What is The Making Mind?
A creative learning programme where children aged 6–12 learn through making.
Who is the Foundation Programme for?
Children aged 6–12. No previous artistic experience is required.
Does my child need to be good at art?
Not at all. The Making Mind develops curiosity, creative confidence and independent thinking through making.
Why is the programme year-long?
Creative confidence develops over time. The Foundation Programme allows children to revisit ideas, materials and ways of thinking across three progressive seasons.
How is The Making Mind different from an art class?
The focus is not on teaching a particular technique or producing a finished object. Making becomes a way for children to explore ideas, experiment, solve problems and develop their own creative process.
What will my child gain from the Foundation Programme?
Over the course of the year, children learn to observe more closely, develop and test their own ideas, make choices, adapt when things don’t go as planned and communicate their thinking with growing confidence.
How will I see my child’s progress?
Each child keeps a Process Passport throughout the year, documenting ideas, experiments, reflections and discoveries. Alongside ongoing observation and the year-end exhibition, it creates a record of how their thinking and making evolve over time.
What happens during a typical session?
Every session follows the same creative rhythm:
See → Imagine → Make → Refine → Share
The projects change every week. The creative process remains consistent.
What should my child bring?
A water bottle and plenty of curiosity. All specialist materials are provided.
How many children are in each group?
Maximum 16 children per cohort.
Where does the programme take place?
Jameel Arts Centre, Dubai.
How much does the programme cost?
AED 2,800 per term (three terms per academic year). All specialist materials are included.
